Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a drafting-focused engineer/designer for a hybrid schedule, combining in-office and remote work. You will develop design drawings with a multidisciplinary team, expand CAD capabilities, and create accurate master sketches tied to existing facilities.

Opportunities exist to visit client sites with experienced designers. Preferred candidates have MicroStation experience, the ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD, and strong multi-tasking skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a technical area including drafting or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and expand drafting skills in a multi-disciplined team to prepare design drawings from design input.
• Apply CAD skills and receive hands-on training in 3D design software environments.
• Create master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities with exact specs.
• Accompany and assist experienced designers on client walkdowns to gather information for your design project.
• Explain drawings to vendors and contractors to support design adjustments.
