Job summary

Sargent & Lundy offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote. The role focuses on drafting under a multi-disciplined team, expanding CAD skills, and creating 3D design drawings from project input.

You will produce master sketches to scale showing installations relative to existing facilities, dimensions, and specifications, while collaborating with clients, vendors, and engineers to refine designs.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a technical area including drafting or a high school diploma with equivalent technical design experience
• Ten (10) or more years of design experience
• Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (e.g., MicroStation)
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
• Knowledge in MicroStation
• Ability to multi-task from project to project
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans, drawings, and models
• Knowledge of engineering science and technology and relating equipment to design

Responsibilities

• Utilize and expand drafting skills in a multi-disciplined team to prepare design drawings from input
• Apply computer-aided drafting skills and receive hands-on training in 3D design software environments
• Create master sketches to scale showing how proposed installations relate to existing facilities with exact specifications
• Accompany and assist experienced designers on client walkdowns to gather information for designs
• Explain drawings to vendors and contractors to facilitate design adjustments
