Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a nuclear power project in the Washington, DC area. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days, and involves design, modification, and analysis of electrical systems for nuclear plants.

The position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) with five+ years of experience in electrical design for industrial/nuclear applications, plus experience with LV/MV distribution and

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
Five+ years design experience of electrical systems in industrial applications, with focus on existing nuclear plants.
Experience with LV/MV distribution, transformers, generators, motors, relays.
Strong written and verbal communication to client and team.
Able to be badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review design change packages to install or upgrade plant equipment.
Prepare and review electrical calculations (short-circuit, voltage drop, ampacity).
Prepare procurement specifications and vendor evaluation support.
Interface with project team members across disciplines and with clients.
Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews and field verification; support site installation activities.
