Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced electrical engineering leader to join our Nuclear Power Group on a hybrid schedule, with three days in the office and two remote.

Lead multi-discipline projects, oversee design through all phases, develop scope, cost estimates, and schedules for complex electrical modifications at nuclear plants, and mentor the group while coordinating client needs and proposals.

Qualifications

• BSEE degree from ABET-accredited program required.
• 10 years' experience in electrical design for nuclear plants.
• 3 years leading an engineering design group through all phases.
• Experience selecting equipment and preparing design change packages.
• Experience as firm/client liaison in lead roles.
• Electrical system design including LV/MV distribution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Detail oriented with ability to badge for unescorted access.
• PE licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead group efforts to deliver electrical engineering deliverables meeting technical, quality, and budget expectations.
• Define scope of work and deliverables for group members.
• Review status and track progress to maintain scope and client satisfaction.
• Conduct routine status meetings and submit progress reports.
• Track and resolve open items and emergent issues.
• Coordinate completion of project deliverables.
• Lead detailed design phases and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Develop scope, cost estimates, and schedules for complex nuclear modifications.
• Develop proposals for complex electrical modifications at nuclear plants.
• Provide technical oversight for design change packages and calculations.
• Interface with client to validate scope and ensure satisfaction.
• Mentor and guide group development.
• Identify client needs for strategic opportunities and follow-on work.
• Prepare/Coordinate multi-discipline proposals.
