Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a mechanical/chemical engineer with 5+ years in the power industry for nuclear plant systems design and modification work. You will prepare or review modification packages, drawings, and procurement documents, and evaluate vendor bids.

The role includes cost estimation, client site visits, and leading project teams in a hybrid schedule. The position emphasizes adherence to codes and standards, possible PE consideration, and team leadership within our Nuclear Power

Qualifications

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
5+ years of experience in the power industry.
Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
PE license is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

Prepare or review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants.
Prepare functional mechanical drawings or drawings for nuclear power plant systems.
Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
Create technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
Study and evaluate options for modifications to operating nuclear power plants.
Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes.
Visit client office and/or plant site locations to interface with the client and present engineering tasks and status.
Lead engineering project teams.
