Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical/ChE engineer for nuclear power plant systems design. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing modification packages, drawings, and analyses to support plant modifications and operation.

The role involves interaction with clients and leading engineering project teams. The position offers a hybrid schedule with 3 days in-office per week, based in the United States, New York region.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in the power industry
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear plant mechanical design
• PE license is beneficial but not required

Responsibilities

• Prepare or review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants
• Develop and review functional mechanical drawings and drawings for plant systems
• Conduct engineering analyses to support plant modifications and operation of plant systems
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment
• Lead engineering project teams
