Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking a Nuclear Facility Electrical Project Engineer to design electrical systems for new construction, upgrades, and lab facilities. The role involves developing electrical criteria, calculating designs, and ensuring safety and DOE-compliance in highly regulated environments.

The position may offer a hybrid schedule with some in-person and remote work options; some projects require DOE Q clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Citizenship in the United States required for DOE access.
• Anticipated DOE Q security clearance with background check.
• Degree in electrical engineering or related technical field; experience accepted.
• Experience designing facility electrical systems and components.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement electrical designs for facility projects and upgrades.
• Support R&D projects with safe, DOE-compliant electrical solutions.
• Coordinate with drafters, contractors, and project team members on design activities.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and change orders during construction.
