Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking an Electrical Designer/Engineer to prepare construction documents for electrical systems across LLNL facilities. The role advances from TSS.2 to TSS.3 with increasing independence and technical scope, within the Design & Engineering Division of the PMO.

You will contribute to planning, design, and construction, ensuring reliability, compliance, and efficiency; join as TSS.2 or TSS.3 with escalating leadership and technical

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 5 years of design experience.
  • Passed the FE Exam; ability to obtain California PE within five years.
  • Knowledge of NEC and California Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24).
  • Experience delivering electrical design and drafting for new construction and existing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for construction projects including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and associated systems.
  • Apply NEC, California Building and Electrical Codes, and LLNL standards to design solutions.
  • Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations (load flow, short circuit, arc flash).
  • Provide engineering support during construction by reviewing submittals, answering questions, and inspecting.
  • Use AutoCAD and Revit to prepare electrical construction packages.
