Job summary

HED is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of portions of project design, documentation, and coordination in a hybrid work environment.

You will independently perform mechanical design tasks, develop system layouts in Revit, and coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure quality and code compliance. This role also involves mentoring designers and participating in project meetings to support delivery from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• PE licensure is required.
• 5+ years in the AEC industry preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills and proficiency with Revit are expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development and calculations for mechanical systems across project phases.
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, controls sequences and code compliance checks.
• Develop and review mechanical system layouts in Revit in coordination with other disciplines.
• Coordinate design with internal and external teams to resolve conflicts and progress design.
• Assist with field verification, RFIs, submittals, and project meetings.
