Job summary

Scion Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Litigation Paralegal on behalf of a respected regional law firm. This direct-hire, hybrid role is based in either the firm's Portland, Maine or Manchester, New Hampshire office.

You will prepare pleadings, draft motions, support attorneys through all phases of litigation, and manage case files in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a paralegal certificate or bachelor's degree, strong research and writing skills, and experience with state and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate required.
• Prior experience as a litigation paralegal.
• Experience with state and federal court filing procedures.
• Strong legal research, writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and professional judgment.
• Transactional legal experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, file, and manage pleadings and court documents using state and federal electronic filing systems.
• Draft motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, affidavits, notices, and other litigation documents.
• Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, including discovery, eDiscovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial.
• Prepare exhibits, trial binders, deposition materials, and hearing notebooks.
• Coordinate service of process and assist with case management activities.
• Calculate, calendar, and monitor litigation deadlines in accordance with court rules.
