Elgen Staffing is assisting a leading litigation firm in Hartford seeking a Litigation Paralegal. The role supports attorneys through all phases of litigation, manages case files, assists with discovery and trial prep, and coordinates court filings in state and federal courts.

The position is hybrid, with responsibilities including subpoenas, legal research, and document management. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of litigation experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1–3 years of litigation paralegal or legal secretary experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF software; familiarity with document management systems like iManage.
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional, reliable and collaborative demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on subpoenas and obtain records to support the litigation team.
• Assist with creating PowerPoint presentations for cases.
• Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review.
• Prepare, serve, and track subpoenas and coordinate document production.
• Assist with discovery, including drafting requests and organizing productions.
• Maintain litigation calendars with court dates and deadlines.
• Support motions and trial prep, including exhibits and binders.
• Communicate case status with clients, courts and outside counsel.
• Organize electronic document management systems and case databases.
