Job summary

Eversource Energy in New Hampshire is seeking a Lead Engineer to oversee the design, maintenance and operation of critical transmission and distribution systems. You will coordinate responses to failures, develop long‑term Life Cycle Plans and guide a team of engineers and staff to deliver safe, reliable and cost‑effective electric service.

Responsibilities include supervising engineers, approving work, supporting storm restoration, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 8–10 years in electrical utility engineering; supervisory exp. preferred.
• Knowledge of utility power systems; ability to lead multi‑disciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and develop engineers; assign and direct work.
• Oversee cost and performance of assets; monitor system events and equipment condition.
• Develop Life Cycle Plan activities over multi‑year horizon; lead ongoing projects.
• Ensure design and specs for transmission/distribution work are accurate and timely.
• Develop preliminary engineering designs and details as needed.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure consistency and teamwork.
• Provide technical support to operating areas during normal and emergency conditions.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate technology and equipment choices for the system.
• Develop standards and procedures for design, operation, and maintenance.
• Step into Manager role as required.
• Assist with storm duty and major events as needed.
