Job summary

Eversource Energy in the United States is seeking a Lead Engineer to oversee the development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the transmission and distribution system. The role coordinates evaluations of failures and resolutions to support operations, and shares accountability in the Life Cycle Plan with peers.

The position involves supervising engineers, guiding asset performance, and ensuring projects meet high quality standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
8–10 years in technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electrical utility industry; supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of utility power systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervises, coaches, and develops engineers; assigns and directs work for at least 2 FTE engineers.
Oversees cost and performance of assets including reliability analysis and trending of system events.
Develops Life Cycle Plan activities over multi-year horizons and approves related projects.
Ensures design and specification of additions, modifications and replacements to transmission and distribution systems are completed accurately and on time.
Develops preliminary engineering designs and detailed specifications as needed.
Collaborates with other engineers to ensure consistency and teamwork.
Provides technical support to operating areas during normal and emergency situations.
Root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
Develops standards and procedures for design, operation and maintenance.
