Job summary

Eversource is seeking a Lead Engineer in Massachusetts to lead the design, expansion, maintenance and operation of the transmission and distribution system. You will coordinate evaluation of failures, support operations during unplanned maintenance, and ensure high‑quality, safe, reliable electric service.

You will supervise engineers, collaborate to develop the Life Cycle Plan, and work with ISO‑NE on DER interconnects and interties. Travel to MA/CT/NH and occasional field work are possible.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of utility power systems is preferred.
• Ability to develop, present and execute new projects with cross‑department collaboration.
• Experience supervising teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coaches, and develops engineers; approves time and conducts reviews.
• Directs work of at least 2 engineers; prioritizes assignments.
• Oversees cost and performance of assets; conducts reliability analysis and monitoring.
• Develops Life Cycle Plan activities over multi-year horizons.
• Ensures design and specifications to transmission/distribution systems are accurate and timely.
• Collaborates with other engineers to maintain consistency and teamwork.
• Provides technical support during normal and emergency situations.
• Performs root-cause analysis and implements corrective actions.
• Evaluates technology and equipment for the system; develops standards and procedures.
• May assume Manager role and assist with storm duty and major events.
