Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a senior electrical engineer to lead distribution design on upstream and midstream facilities. You will prepare and review construction sketches, coordinate with clients, and review complex distribution tasks across 120/208V up to 34 kV.

The role is hybrid with relocation support, requiring ABET‑accredited training and at least 7 years in utility distribution. Strong leadership and communication are essential to drive project teams.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET-accredited engineering degree.
• 7+ years in electric utility distribution or related review experience.
• Knowledge of distribution design methods and their application.
• Familiar with codes and standards such as NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.
• Experience with overhead and underground distribution projects (120/208V through 34 kV).
• PLS CADD experience highly preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/Review construction sketches and details for distribution projects.
• Work on project teams with engineers designing upstream and midstream facilities.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and Design Reviews.
• Collaborate with client representatives to address distribution design questions.
• Analyze, design or review priority feeds.
• Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
• Plan system modifications and oversee complex tasks.
• Develop work packages and provide construction support as needed.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and field verifications.
• Grow career through S&L’s Communities of Practice.
