Job summary

EXP is seeking a Junior Project Accountant to join our Finance Operations team in a hybrid role. You will manage project finances, invoice processing and budgeting within Deltek, while collaborating with Project Managers and Sector Leads.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Accounting with 2–4 years of AP/AR/Billing experience in an engineering environment, and demonstrates strong revenue recognition knowledge, Excel proficiency, and clear communication. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or equivalent
• 2–4 years accounting experience (AP/AR/Billing) in an engineering firm is preferred
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self‑motivation with ability to work independently
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantage Point is a definite asset

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Project Managers and Sector Leads about contracts, change orders and services
• Set up and review projects in Deltek and maintain project budgets
• Close out projects upon completion
• Prepare and send invoices with appropriate backups
• Create monthly Project Progress Reports and hold monthly reviews with PMs
• Investigate variances and report to management
• Coordinate with cash receipts to reconcile variances
• Assist with audits and gather required paperwork
• Process vendor invoices and employee expenses for approval
• Run requested reports and support PMs as needed
• Coordinate with local offices on activities
