Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Network Engineer for a hybrid role in the Raleigh-Durham area. Onsite 2 days per week in RTP with remote work the rest of the time.

Ideal for early-career professionals strong in networking, systems administration, and troubleshooting to grow infrastructure expertise. The candidate will perform maintenance, support servers and core IT systems, diagnose issues, and assist with upgrades while adhering to security procedures.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, network support, or systems administration.
• CCNA certification or equivalent Cisco networking knowledge required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day network maintenance activities, including patching, cabling, hardware support, and infrastructure upkeep.
• Assist with administration and support of servers, operating systems, and core IT systems in an on-premises environment.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, and infrastructure-related issues across multiple locations.
• Support network upgrades, deployments, and documentation efforts while following established security and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and IT teams to ensure reliable network and system performance.
