Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to support a growing client in the technology sector in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. The role is hybrid, requiring 2 days onsite in RTP and the remainder remote, ideal for an early-career professional building networking and systems skills.

The position requires a CCNA certification or equivalent Cisco knowledge, a Bachelor’s degree, and hands-on experience in network engineering or systems administration.

Qualifications

• CCNA certification or equivalent Cisco networking knowledge required.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving network connectivity and performance issues.
• Familiarity with on-premises infrastructure and Windows Server administration.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day network maintenance including patching, cabling, hardware support, and infrastructure upkeep.
• Assist with server, OS, and core IT systems administration in an on-premises environment.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity and performance issues across locations.
• Support network upgrades, deployments, and documentation while following security procedures.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and IT teams to ensure reliable network and system performance.
