Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to join our growing technology team in the Durham, NC area. This role supports network operations, maintains on-premises infrastructure, and works in a hybrid environment requiring two days on site at RTP and the remainder remote.

Starting as a 12-month contract with strong potential for extension and conversion to a full-time role based on performance, candidates should have CCNA or equivalent networking experience and be eligible to obtain a

Qualifications

• CCNA certification or equivalent networking experience.
• 2+ years of experience in network support or administration.
• Experience with Layer 1 cabling and on-premises infrastructure.
• Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform network support and maintenance tasks, including patching, cabling, and Layer 1 troubleshooting.
• Assist with the administration and upkeep of on-premises network infrastructure and connectivity services.
• Support the deployment and integration of cloud service provider (CSP) solutions in a hybrid environment.
• Diagnose and resolve network, hardware, and connectivity issues across various technologies and locations.
• Partner with infrastructure and systems teams to maintain network stability and performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and system updates.
• Provide hands-on assistance with network equipment installations, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
