Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to support a growing technology client in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. The role requires onsite 2 days per week in RTP, with the remainder remote, making it ideal for an early-career IT professional looking to expand expertise in systems administration.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in systems administration, IT infrastructure support, or network administration.
• CCNA certification or equivalent Cisco networking knowledge.
• Experience troubleshooting network issues, supporting switches and routers, and performing infrastructure maintenance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for on-premises servers, operating systems, and core IT infrastructure.
• Assist with network and system maintenance activities, including hardware deployments, cabling, patching, and equipment upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and resolve user, server, and network connectivity issues to maintain operational efficiency.
• Support system monitoring, documentation, and administrative tasks to ensure stability and compliance with IT standards.
• Work alongside senior infrastructure team members on technology enhancements, deployments, and ongoing support initiatives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field
