Job summary

CIS Custom Information Services is seeking a Level 2 IT Technician to support our managed clients in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The role focuses on advanced desktop, server, and network support at client sites and remotely, with a strong emphasis on Oil & Gas software and Office 365.

The candidate should have 3+ years of IT experience, strong AD, networking, and virtualization skills, and be comfortable mentoring junior staff. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in IT support, Level 2 preferred
• Strong server administration (Windows/Linux)
• Networking expertise (LAN/WAN, VPNs, DNS, DHCP)
• Experience with Oil and Gas software (SCADA, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Petrel, SAP/Oracle)
• Proficient with Office 365, Active Directory, and remote desktop
• Solid firewall, antivirus, and data protection knowledge
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Security+ or Microsoft/ Cisco/ VMware are a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for desktops, servers, and network infrastructure at client sites and remotely.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues.
• Manage and maintain Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and access permissions.
• Configure and troubleshoot network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Implement and maintain server environments (Windows/Linux) and virtualization solutions (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as data backups, patch management, and system updates.
• Provide IT support for industry-specific software commonly used in Oil and Gas, such as SCADA systems, geological mapping software, ERP systems like SAP or Oracle.
• Implement and support Microsoft Office 365 solutions, cloud environments (Azure, AWS), and VPN configurations.
• Collaborate with clients on IT infrastructure projects, including installations, upgrades, and migrations.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive IT documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and incident reports.
• Ensure the security of client environments by applying best practices for firewalls, antivirus, and data protection.
• Act as a point of escalation for Level 1 Technicians, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
