Job summary

Diamond Technology is seeking an IT Project Manager for a hybrid role with on-site Mondays and Tuesdays. The position supports a large local public organization and runs a 1-year, 40-hour-per-week contract at an hourly rate of $85–$95.

The role requires strong PM experience, budget management, and vendor governance, with U.S.-based work authorization. The ideal candidate will lead complex IT modernization projects, develop charters and schedules, and ensure projects meet scope, time, and budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or a related field plus 2 years managing integrated information systems projects, OR 6+ years of that experience.
• In the last 5 years, led at least 2 integrated IT systems or infrastructure projects with direct scope, schedule, budget and risk/issue management.
• Authorized to work in the U.S., able to start within 30 days, Monday–Friday 8–5 Pacific, and any remote work within the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multi-year IT modernization projects from planning through implementation and operational transition.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, budgets, resource plans, and success metrics.
• Develop and maintain project charters, work plans, risk registers, communication plans, and executive reporting.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with organizational priorities.
• Serve as the primary liaison between IT leadership, business departments, vendors, and external partners.
• Build consensus among diverse stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams with accountability and transparency.
• Oversee implementation activities including system integration, testing, UAT, and production readiness.
• Ensure compliance with security, architecture, and governance standards.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and issues; develop mitigation strategies and change management.
• Manage vendor relationships, procurement activities, contracts, and third‑party engagements.
• Support governance with performance metrics, dashboards, and continuous improvement.
