Job summary

Guide Dogs for the Blind is seeking an IT Infrastructure Specialist for our Oregon campus. The role provides technical support across networks, servers, security systems, audiovisual equipment, and software, with a focus on campus IT needs.

You will work with IT leadership, end users, and vendors to keep systems reliable and secure. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement after onboarding and reports to the OR campus VP, with dotted-line to CA IT Infrastructure Manager, aligning with IT

Qualifications

• Five years of computer hardware/software support and network administration.
• Experience with Windows, Active Directory, VMware, Box, Zoom, Verkada, ArcticWolf, Ruckus, VoIP.
• Strong TCP/IP networking and Wi-Fi knowledge.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and standards.
• Experience upgrading OS/equipment and change management processes.
• Technical certifications encouraged (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA).
• Ability to learn assistive technologies for visually impaired users.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex projects with timelines and multiple priorities.
• Provide timely Help Desk support for on-site, remote, and field users.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network, server, storage, AV, and phones.
• Perform network maintenance and occasional after-hours work.
• Support upgrades and integration of application software.
• Create technical and end-user documentation adhering to accessibility guidelines.
• Lead complex deployments with limited direction.
• Back up CA IT Infrastructure Specialist duties and escalate as needed.
• Evaluate and procure new technologies per IT Steering Committee initiatives.
• Stay current with hardware, software, and enterprise applications; support VoIP.
