Cornell University is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join our IT support team in Ithaca. You will provide advanced desktop and mobile device support, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with university teams to deliver reliable services.

You’ll assist with deployment, imaging, and configuration using SCCM and Jamf, and communicate clearly with customers while documenting resolutions and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience providing proficient desktop support for Windows and Mac systems.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Clear communication, documentation, and professional writing abilities.
• Self-motivated with broad enterprise IT service knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to dynamic needs; NY driver’s license and background check required.

Responsabilités

• Provide advanced troubleshooting for Windows/macOS, iOS, enterprise apps, email, and network access.
• Handle service requests via phone, email, chat, and on-site interactions; document actions taken.
• Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate with teams to implement solutions.
• Configure, install, and maintain hardware, OS, and software; deploy computers using SCCM and Jamf.
• Support customers remotely and on-site; participate in testing and process improvements.
