Job summary

Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders is seeking an IP Services Assistant to support U.S. and international patent prosecution. You will review dockets, manage correspondence, and help prepare and e-file documents with USPTO and foreign offices.

In collaboration with attorneys, clients, and paralegals, you will ensure deadlines are met, records are accurate, and procedures followed, while maintaining confidentiality in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrated ability to perform duties.
• Minimum of two years of progressive patent prosecution experience.
• Knowledge of USPTO procedures and Patent Center.
• Ability to work in hybrid/in-office settings.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare documents for USPTO patent filings.
• Draft routine reporting letters to clients and foreign associates.
• Create inventor formality documents for USPTO submission.
• Respond to client instructions for US, PCT, and foreign applications.
• Utilize USPTO resources and other government agencies.
• Monitor and manage deadlines for US and foreign dockets.
