Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP is seeking a skilled IP Services Assistant to support US and international patent prosecution, review dockets, handle correspondence, and help prepare and e-file documents with USPTO and other agencies. You will collaborate with attorneys, clients, and paralegals to meet deadlines, maintain records, and ensure compliance with firm policies.

Minimum two years’ patent prosecution experience and a Bachelor’s degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years’ patent prosecution experience.
• Proficient with USPTO procedures and filing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare documents for USPTO filings.
• Draft routine reporting letters for clients and foreign associates.
• Create inventor formality documents for USPTO submission.
• Respond to client instructions and draft responses for US, PCT, and foreign applications.
• Monitor U.S. and foreign docket deadlines and follow up with attorneys and clients.
• Maintain client records and manage portfolio spreadsheets.
