Job summary

Cooley LLP is seeking an IP Docketing Specialist (Trademark, Copyright, & Advertising) to join the IP Services team in a hybrid role based in California. The position focuses on accurate daily docketing for US and foreign IP matters and coordinating with practitioners, paralegals, and staff.

You will review PTO filings, monitor deadlines, and navigate USPTO, WIPO, EPO and other systems, while staying current with IP procedures.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and iManage.
• Minimum 3+ years of IP experience; law firm background preferred.
• Experience researching IP status in public databases and PTO systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily docketing and de-docketing for US and foreign IP matters with accuracy.
• Communicate with practitioners, paralegals, and staff to confirm actions.
• Provide timely updates on matters and deadlines to the IP Services group.
• Review PTO filings and process USPTO filing notices.
• Navigate USPTO PAIR, WIPO, EPO, and other IP databases.
• Assist with data, reports, and charts from IPMS as needed.
• Ensure deadlines are met and seek guidance for unresponsive teams.
• Adhere to quality checks and regulatory changes in IP prosecution.
