Job summary

WilmerHale in Washington, DC seeks an IP Docketing Specialist to maintain the patent docketing for multiple offices, review USPTO correspondence for deadlines, and support attorneys and staff.

You will enter records, manage deadlines, and generate reports using CPI and a document management system in a collaborative, client‑focused environment.

A BA/BS or equivalent and IP prosecution experience are preferred; the role offers a hybrid schedule and competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Review USPTO and foreign correspondence for deadlines and enter information into the docketing database.
• Enter new records from patent applications and confirm filing packages.
• Dedocket actions and move filing packages in the docketing workspace.
• Enter bar dates and target filing dates into CPI from New Matter emails.
• Check data accuracy and correct as needed.
• Save daily mail to document management system and report docketed mail to attorneys and staff.
• Prepare weekly and ad-hoc docket reports.
