Job summary

Snell & Wilmer is seeking an Intellectual Property Docket Specialist to join our IP Docket team in a role focused on foreign patent and trademark docketing. You will ensure deadlines are recorded accurately and compliant across jurisdictions, collaborating with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to support client needs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of IP docketing experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with CPI or similar software. Remote and hybrid options are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in foreign patent and trademark docketing.
• Legal experience in Intellectual Property is required.
• Proficiency with CPI and foreign IP laws, deadlines and procedures.
• Experience with foreign associates and international IP counsel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and process foreign patent and trademark correspondence to identify deadlines.
• Maintain and update docketing records using IP docketing software (e.g., CPI).
• Assign and calculate deadlines for foreign patent and trademark matters according to laws.
• Monitor docket deadlines and generate weekly reports for attorneys and paralegals.
• Docket foreign patent and trademark prosecution, maintenance, renewal, and annuity deadlines.
• Review foreign counsel correspondence and identify required actions and follow-ups.
• Process lateral attorney and client file transfers ensuring docket accuracy.
• Create, update, and maintain IP docketing process documentation and training materials.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, foreign associates to develop efficient workflows.
• Assist with identifying and resolving docketing discrepancies.
