Job summary

Sunstate Mechanical Services, LLC is seeking a results-driven Commercial HVAC Estimator & Sales Representative to drive growth across the Arizona market. This hybrid role combines estimating expertise with relationship-based sales, guiding customers from concept through project close.

The ideal candidate will read plans effectively, interpret specs, and develop detailed cost estimates while building strong client relationships across commercial sectors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC estimating, sales, or project management.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (RTUs, VRF, chillers, boilers, ductwork, controls).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents for commercial HVAC systems.
• Perform accurate takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates (labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors).
• Solicit and evaluate vendor/subcontractor pricing.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and present alternatives.
• Prepare bid proposals, scope clarifications, and exclusions.
• Maintain estimating database and historical cost records relevant to Arizona conditions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, property managers, and owners.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across commercial sectors (office, healthcare, industrial, education, retail).
• Conduct site visits, client meetings, and needs assessments.
• Present proposals, negotiate pricing, and close deals.
• Track leads, bids, and pipeline activity using CRM tools.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure smooth transition from awarded jobs to execution.
• Participate in kickoff meetings and assist with scope alignment.
• Support change order pricing and client communication throughout project lifecycle.
