Job summary

Hinterland Insurance is seeking a Recruiter/HR Generalist to own full-cycle recruiting and support daily HR operations. You will report to the HR Manager and help build our team in a small, growing company.

The role blends talent acquisition with onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, HR records, and facilities coordination. It offers a hybrid schedule (3 days in office) and a range of benefits including health, vision, life and parental leave.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of combined recruiting and HR generalist experience.
• Working knowledge of full-cycle recruiting practices and applicant tracking systems.
• Familiarity with federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and discretion with confidential information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and HRIS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruiting for underwriting, operations, finance, and administrative roles.
• Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, interview plans, and hiring timelines.
• Write job postings, source candidates, and screen applicants.
• Schedule and coordinate interviews, gather feedback, and keep candidates informed.
• Prepare offer letters and manage background/reference checks.
• Track recruiting metrics such as time to fill and pipeline status.
• Build relationships with insurance industry talent pools.
