Job summary

Oil-Dri Corporation of America is seeking a Helpdesk Technician to be the first point of contact for teammates needing technical assistance. The role requires strong communication, customer focus, and the ability to diagnose and explain solutions.

The position is hybrid with onsite work Monday through Wednesday at the Chicago location, and occasional travel to remote facilities may be required. The ideal candidate will have 0–3 years of related experience and a BS or A+ certification.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or relevant subject preferred with 0–2 years’ experience or Associate Degree / A+ certification with 1–3 years’ experience

Responsibilities

• Interview users to gather information and guide them through diagnostic steps.
• Log all support calls in the Help Desk Ticketing System and ensure timely responses.
• Resolve basic hardware and software issues, including installs, updates, and network connections.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software to find root causes, including remote assistance.
• Escalate unresolved issues with documented steps to higher support levels.
• Maintain IT assets in inventory with serial-number tracking.
• Configure and install new PCs and assist users adapting to new systems.
• Stay current with PC hardware and software trends to improve productivity.
• Perform other duties as directed by Technical Services Manager.
