Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. seeks an experienced hardware security engineer to partner with hardware teams, interpreting standards and driving HW-CSDL compliance.

You will deconstruct architectures from system to ASICs, craft actionable guidelines, and author robust security documentation for engineering audiences. You will lead multiple engagements and promote a security-first culture across development lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in EE/CE with 7+ years hardware design/engineering experience.
• Experience reading/system-level schematics, block diagrams, PCB design or review.
• Background in hardware security fundamentals: RoT, Secure Boot, crypto, secure key storage.

Responsibilities

• Partner with hardware teams to analyze evaluation results and provide actionable guidance for HW-CSDL compliance.
• Deconstruct hardware architectures from system level to boards/ASICs to identify vulnerabilities and resilience.
• Interpret emerging standards (NIST SP 800-193, CNSA 2.0, EU CRA, IEEE 2883) into guidance.
• Author security guidelines, reference architectures, implementation guides for engineering audiences.
• Lead and balance multiple security engagements across product families.
• Educate hardware design communities to foster a security-first culture.
