Job summary

Jacobs is hiring an Environmental Engineer or Geologist in the Reston, VA area to advance environmental site characterization and remediation projects for government and private clients. You will collaborate with geologists, engineers, scientists, and PMs to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

Responsibilities include designing and overseeing soil, groundwater, and surface water investigations, coordinating fieldwork, analyzing data, and producing technical reports for regulators and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years delivering environmental site characterization/remediation projects.
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and leading teams.
• 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain.
• U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Design, perform, or oversee soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and surface water investigations.
• Build teams, coordinate fieldwork logistics, and manage data interpretation.
• Write technical reports and participate in client/regulator meetings.
• Contribute to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Support hybrid delivery from office and field locations.
