Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) seeks multiple Engineering Group Leaders for the W87-1 Modification Program. You’ll provide professional leadership for high-level technical activities, lead a group of engineers and technicians, and support production agencies with design, systems engineering, certification, and qualification efforts.

Roles may be hybrid, with some days at the Livermore campus and some remote work.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to secure DOE Q clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Significant experience with design engineering, product realization, certification, and qualification work.
• Subject matter expert knowledge of weapon engineering, systems, and design.
• Experience with project management tools: planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and managing scope and budgets.
• Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation, and leadership skills to interact with senior management and external sponsors.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, guidance and training to group members; foster staff development and balance group skill sets.
• Collaborate with the Project Engineer and Program Engineering Leads to assign work meeting program needs and growth opportunities.
• Track and complete objectives on time and within budget; communicate risks and progress to senior leadership.
• Lead in project engineering, project management, product realization processes, systems engineering, certification and qualification work for production agencies.
• Represent WTE at internal and external meetings, briefings and committees.
• Conduct performance management activities and contribute to salary processes within DTED.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
