Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking a Weapons Infrastructure Project Engineer to plan, manage, and execute equipment recapitalization supporting weapons infrastructure. This role, in DTED, offers hybrid work with some days on-site in Livermore, CA.

You will lead projects involving precision tools, safety reviews, and collaboration with SMEs and procurement to deliver complex facilities upgrades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Significant knowledge of specialized facility equipment design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of systems engineering concepts for integrating equipment with construction projects.
• Experience managing projects and conducting rigorous design reviews.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and adapt to emergent requests.

Responsibilities

• Develop requirements, designs, scope, costs, schedules and risk plans for fielding equipment.
• Collaborate with SMEs to write statements of work and integrate with required real property.
• Review and develop technical specifications and drawings and present in design reviews.
• Work with vendors and procurement on acquisition of programmatic equipment and utilities.
• Prepare health and safety documentation aligned with ISM requirements and participate in reviews.
• Lead a team of SMEs, facility operations, and procurement to ensure project execution.
• Coordinate with HE&E program and IPT to scope and plan real-property projects.
