Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) invites an experienced Power Grid Engineer Lead to steer system research on electrical power grid infrastructure with emphasis on resilience. You will collaborate with CIR program teams, lead complex projects, and help shape the CIR research roadmap while traveling to DOE HQ and national labs as needed.

The role may offer hybrid work, with some days on-site and some remote.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required or equivalent experience.
• PhD preferred for SES.4 level.
• Experience in grid modeling, analysis, and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex research projects in power grid infrastructure.
• Collaborate with LLNL scientists to apply results to programs.
• Develop CIR program research roadmap and secure funding.
• Co‑author papers and present findings to LLNL and external audiences.
• Mentor staff and assist in recruitment efforts.
