Job summary

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. is seeking an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter for E&S Property in Atlanta or Chicago. The role is hybrid with in-office presence three days per week to meet brokers and agents.

You will assess risk, pricing, and exposure, while collaborating with field teams to deliver best end-to-end insurance solutions. Strong communication and MS Office skills are essential; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years in underwriting/market facing areas or 6+ years in claims/underwriting support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree with 1+ year in underwriting/market facing area or 4+ years in claims/underwriting support.
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of time constraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as customer industry advocate to improve customer experience and provide end-to-end insurance solutions.
• Use disciplined exposure evaluation, risk assessment, and pricing.
• Leverage risk insights, data, and models to inform decisions at the point of sale.
• Market-facing production within the E&S Standard Property group.
• Administer underwriting rules, guidelines, and insurance laws and rating manuals.
• Work within broad limits on highly complex assignments.
