Job summary

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. seeks an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter – E&S Property to join our market team in a hybrid role based in Atlanta or Chicago.

You will analyze and underwrite new and renewal business, interact with brokers, and operate within Zurich’s underwriting framework with flexibility to meet market demands. You will be in the office/market three days per week and collaborate with national wholesalers to drive growth while balancing profitability and service

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3+ years of underwriting or market-facing experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years of claims or underwriting support experience
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ years of underwriting/market-facing experience
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 4+ years of claims/underwriting support experience
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
• Experience with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Serve as a customer industry advocate to improve the customer experience and offer end-to-end insurance solutions
• Use a disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment and pricing
• Use risk insights, data, and models to drive informed decisions at the point of sale
• Market facing and production within the E&S Standard Property group
• Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, laws and rating manual rules
• Work within broad limits on highly complex assignments
