Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter – E&S Property in a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL or Atlanta, GA. You will analyze and underwrite new and renewal business, meeting brokers and agents in market three days per week and working with national wholesalers to drive profitable growth.

The role offers a mix of technical underwriting with marketplace visibility, requiring strong negotiation and communication skills, plus knowledge of underwriting

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of underwriting or market-facing experience, or 6+ years in claims or underwriting support, or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and relevant experience.
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines; ability to meet quotes deadlines; strong relationship skills with brokers nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Serve as customer industry advocate to improve the customer experience and provide end-to-end insurance solutions.
• Apply disciplined exposure evaluation, risk assessment and pricing methods.
• Use risk insights, data and models to drive decisions at the point of sale.
• Market facing and production within the E&S Standard Property group.
• Administer underwriting rules, guidelines, and applicable laws.
• Operate within broad limits on highly complex assignments.
