Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a hybrid role in the United States (Kentucky/Northern region).You will work with a project team to design and analyze distribution systems, including overhead and underground networks up to 34kV, while producing construction sketches and cost estimates. The role emphasizes knowledge of codes and standards, software proficiency, and strong communication.

Qualifications

BS or MS in engineering required.
1+ year of experience in electric utility distribution or related fields.
Knowledgeable in distribution design methods and their application.
Familiar with codes, standards and distribution software (AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman).
Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.
Experience with overhead/underground distribution projects (120/208V through 34kV).
Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare construction sketches and details for overhead and underground network services (4 KV through 34 KV).
Perform structural analyses, short circuit and voltage drop calculations.
Prepare bill of materials and cost estimates; plan traffic control/permitting drawings.
Analyze and design priority feeds; support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
Plan system modifications and design complex tasks.
Develop work packages and as-builts at project completion.
