Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an engineer with 1+ year in electric utility distribution to design and detail overhead and underground networks (4 kV–34 kV) and perform analyses. The role includes BOM, cost estimates, and traffic control planning. A BS/MS in engineering is required, with familiarity in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and relevant codes.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with relocation options, and a focus on quality design and client service. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in engineering or related field.
• One or more years of experience in electric utility distribution or related work.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards (NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE).
• Familiar with using distribution software such as AutoCAD and ArcGIS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction sketches and details for overhead and underground network services (4 KV through 34 KV).
• Perform structural analyses and short circuit/voltage drop calculations.
• Develop BOM, cost estimates and traffic control plans.
• Analyze and design priority feeds and modifications to the system.
• Develop work packages and provide as-builts at project completion.
