Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is actively seeking engineers to join a project team and design distribution systems up to 34 kV. You will prepare sketches, perform short circuit and voltage drop calculations, and develop work packages with as‑builts.

The role offers hybrid work with three days in the office and two days remote. A relocation package may be available depending on location, and ABET‑accredited engineers with 2+ years of utility experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• This position requires a degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Two or more years of experience with electric utility distribution or relevant experience.
• Knowledgeable in physical distribution design methods and their application.
• Knowledgeable in applicable codes, standards, and distribution software programs including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman, etc.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.
• Experience with complex overhead and underground distribution projects (120/208V through 34kV).
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction sketches and details for overhead and underground distribution systems up to 34 kV, structural analyses, and related calculations.
• Analyze and design priority feeds and support maintenance or recapitalization of distribution components.
• Plan modifications and develop work packages with as-builts at project completion.
