Job summary

Charter Steel is seeking a Full-Time Customer Service Representative to join our Sales team in the Chicago area. The role operates in a hybrid on-site/off-site capacity at our Chicago headquarters, serving as the first contact for customers and coordinating order movements and shipments.

Responsibilities include reviewing open orders, updating customers on order status, expediting orders with internal teams, maintaining customer files, and supporting daily billing processes.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review daily open order reports and coordinate with scheduling to ensure on-time fulfillment.
• Communicate order status to customers regularly.
• Coordinate movement and shipment of materials to customers.
• Maintain customer files and documentation.
• Provide backup for daily billing packages.
