Job summary

Arizona Public Service Company is seeking a Contracts Analyst (Supply Chain) to support Category Managers, Strategic Procurement, and Procurement staff. The role focuses on reviewing contracts, negotiating favorable terms, and drafting provisions and amendments.

You will participate in negotiations with counterparties, develop templates, and train staff on contracting processes. A four-year degree plus five years of experience, or nine years without a degree, is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of paralegal, legal, or contract administration experience.
• In lieu of bachelor's degree, nine years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Understanding of contract terms and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Support Procurement staff in the development and negotiation of procurement contracts, including contract redlining.
• Negotiate with counterparties and collaborate with Supply Chain Procurement Personnel and Company Law Department on strategy to reduce risk.
• Identify, draft, and negotiate high risk contract terms and conditions to mitigate risk and maximize value.
• Develop and maintain contract templates (master and standalone supplier agreements, IT agreements, NDAs, addenda).
• Create training materials and provide training on contracting best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Deliver risk management and subject matter expertise through contract negotiations and department initiatives.
• Enter required contract data into the contract system and train Category Managers and business units on contract tools and processes.
• Prepare a summary of significant exceptions during contracting and obtain attorney approvals when necessary.
