Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter — Construction Professional Liability. This role supports complex Construction PL accounts and acts as a subject matter expert within a hybrid work environment across the South or Western regions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with several years of underwriting/market facing experience
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines
• Experience with quotes on new and renewal business
• Experience working in a team environment and with distributors/brokers

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating annual rules
• Develop, maintain and collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and other business needs
• May provide guidance to lower level associates
• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents and brokers) to support retention and growth
• Support the sales culture by acting as a Help Point for agents, brokers and customers
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities
• Complete detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth opportunities
• Qualify accounts to meet appetite and opportunities and make planned broker/customer calls
