Job summary

Zurich North America seeks an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter – Construction PL to join our Specialties Construction team. This hybrid role covers complex Construction Professional Liability accounts with Select Brokers across the US.

The position offers growth in underwriting and marketing skills, with opportunities to work with distributors and customers, and to take on leadership guidance for junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3+ years in underwriting or market facing area.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with underwriting rules, regulations, and rating annual rules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating annual rules.
• Develop, maintain & collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and other business needs.
• Provide guidance to lower level associates as needed.
• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) to support retention and growth.
• Support the sales culture as a Help Point for agents, brokers, and customers.
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors.
• Qualify accounts to meet appetite and opportunities.
