Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an Underwriter Specialist or Executive Underwriter – Construction PL to join the Specialties Construction team on a hybrid schedule. The role can be based at any Zurich office in the South or Western regions or remote within those regions.

The position will be filled at Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level based on experience and qualifications. You will handle complex Construction Professional Liability accounts and act as a SME on the team,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or 6+ years in Claims/Underwriting Support.
• ZCIA apprenticeship plus Associate Degree with applicable underwriting experience.
• Knowledge of line of business and regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to manage quotes with time restraints.
• Experience using Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Administer underwriting rules, guidelines, and rating rules.
• Collaborate with Line of Business on referrals and business needs.
• Provide guidance to lower level associates.
• Develop relationships with distributors to support retention and growth.
• Support sales by serving as Help Point for agents, brokers, and customers.
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete opportunity assessments with distributors to identify growth.
• Qualify accounts to match appetite and opportunities.
• Make broker/customer on-site calls with a clear purpose.
