Job summary

Deaf Services Unlimited in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a Communication Access Coordinator to join the Client Operations Department. You will coordinate ASL interpreting and CART captioning requests, ensure accurate job details, and fulfill assignments on schedule while delivering accessible services to Deaf and hard-of-hearing consumers.

You will respond to inquiries, onboard new customers, manage intake, maintain records, and collaborate across teams to ensure high-quality coverage and timely

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in records and scheduling.
  • Fast-paced, adaptable, problem-solving with sound judgment.
  • Customer-service mindset and ability to build trust.
  • Proficient with computer systems, scheduling platforms, databases, and office software.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate interpreting and captioning requests with accurate job details.
  • Respond to customer and provider inquiries by phone, email, and DSU systems.
  • Support provider outreach and follow-up for quality coverage.
  • Maintain relationships with requesters and providers with clear communication.
  • Onboard new customers, manage intake, and conduct follow-ups.
  • Update scheduling systems and internal documentation.
  • Collaborate to troubleshoot issues and adjust plans as needed.
  • Engage in cross-training for a flexible team.
  • Deliver reliable service with attention to detail and urgency.
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Remain adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contribute to a culture of shared ownership and continuous learning.
