Advocates is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to support the Communication Access Team in arranging service providers for agency-wide access requests.

The role requires ASL and written English proficiency, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a diverse community. It is a hybrid position with some in-person responsibilities and meetings, offering flexibility and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language and written English required.
  • Native and heritage signers are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills for working in a diverse, multi-lingual community.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor scheduling to ensure timely, culturally responsive, equitable service delivery.
  • Maintain daily scheduling and coordination of requests using scheduling systems.
  • Serve as central point of communication between requestors, Deaf consumers, interpreters, and staff.
  • Triage incoming requests by urgency, complexity, and needs.
  • Maintain interpreter availability records and assist requestors in identifying availability.
  • Assign staff and freelance interpreters based on qualifications, culture, needs, and availability.
  • Prepare scheduling-related billing processes including accounts payable/receivable activities.
